Matthew O'Callaghan was a great director to work with. It was a dream being a part of his clear, creative vision. He knows how to direct animators and I very much hope to work for him again in the future.

I had the joy of animating on this marketing campaign upstairs with the commercial department! I animated the the octopus 'R' and timed out the city 'R' in 3D as planning for the stop-motion part.Take a look, if you're interested!

Daffy's Rhapsody out this Friday, February 10th

In front of "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," "Daffy's Rhapsody" will probable blow your mind! This was the first project I had worked on as an apprentice here at Reel FX and I'm ecstatic to see its release!! Animating to the original voice actor of Daffy was really something else. Mel Blanc's voice, taken from an old song he sang in the '50's, is front and center in this short, as it should be. If you have any interest in seeing Journey 2, I hope that you enjoy our hard work on, what I feel to be, a magnificent effort to preserve what made Daffy and Elmer a classic.

Sylvester and Tweety 3D short Clip

In front of Happy Feet Two, enjoy this short film we worked on! WB was going to put Daffy's Rhapsody in front, but though it'd be best to save that for another movie because it has a gun in it. If this was 10 years ago, i bet they would have decided to add more guns.

Daffy/Elmer Sneak Peak!

The 2nd half of our Daffy and Elmer short was shown here at about 28 minutes in! All three of the shots I animated are shown, so that's pretty cool. I wonder if that means i can put them on a demo reel? Hmm, gotta ask my supervisor tomorrow about that.

I wonder why they chose to show the back half instead of the front.

For you non-Hydro Thunder players, I've got a new contract with ReelFX. Texas is okay by me, so because of this new run of picture deal I'll be enjoying the central timezone until at least the middle of next year.

ReelFX's next set of three Looney Tunes shorts will start rolling out in the coming months, and I'm super excited to have started work on our next project as a regular animator! Apprentice? Pfft! High 5 for promotions!

I'm Hired!

I start at Reel FX in Dallas at the end of February as an Animation Apprentice! My dream is to animate for films, and Ain't it a kick in the head; I'm about to start doing just that. I have loved learning about animation even before I started messing around with Maya 4.0 back in high school. I want to never stop learning and growing and being challenged. Clearly, God's plan for my life involves me reaching my dreams!

Animation Mentor class 1 assignments 2.0

Having completed Animation Mentor a few months ago, I wanted to pound down the basics and make sure I really had a grasp of the basics. So here you have it! I've reread my notes and taken what I've learned since then and ran through Class 1's curriculum a second time. While there's always room to grow and learn, I am excited to move onto the new version of class 2. I was the final group of students to start AM before they revamped their program.
